My name is Erika, and I am a professional tour guide and Props designer at the Theatre Regio of Parma. I have a degree in Art, Music, and Performance from the University of Bologna and am a great lover of all genres of art, music, theater, and dance.

The city in which I was born and rasied – Parma – is a dynamic city sliced in two by its river, which cuts the old town center into distinct, diverse halves and gives it its double-faceted culture. These two intoxicating parts of town have left their mark on me and made me who I am.

The city’s twin souls are on display in both its history and its art: on one side, the glittering neoclassical Ducal center of grand theaters, wonderful gardens, and priceless remnants of the Romanesque architecture; on the other, the red-blooded old neighborhood of “Oltretorrente” with its colored buildings, churches, and family restaurants, the site of the heroic anti-fascist barricades of 1922, home to university students and culture area underground. An eclectic city for an eclectic land, where culture moves to the notes of Giuseppe Verdi and the role of the theater marks the common passion of all Parmigiani: melodramma. Let me take you on an artistic and musical tour of my city, showing you the highlights as well as the hidden gems: a backstage visit to the Teatro Regio, intimate Renaissance cloisters, old-world ballrooms, and exclusive operatic musical clubs. My tours bring history and art together into one great tapestry, where masters like Correggio and Parmigianino encounter musical geniuses like Verdi and Arturo Toscanini and rub elbows with cruel and captivating dukes and duchesses. One-of-a-kind tours that will inspire your artistic side and leave you with a timeless memory of a timeless city.
